Nam-myoho-renge-kyo could be said to be the name of this invincible heart of the lion king. When someone calls your name, you naturally despond, don’t you? In the same way, when you chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, you were calling forth the heart of the lion king. You are able to bring forth courage, wisdom, the strength to live, and compassion to care for others. Therefore, those who chant can make their lives shine their strongest and brightest.

各各師子王の心を取り出して・いかに人をどすともをづる事なかれ、師子王は百獣にをぢず・師子の子・又かくのごとし （御書1190㌻）
「南無妙法蓮華経」は、何ものにも負けない「しし王の心」をあらわした名前です。
みなさんは、自分の名前を呼ばれたら、「はい！」と元気に返事をしますね。
同じように、「南無妙法蓮華経」と唱えれば、自分の中から「しし王の心」が呼ばれて、あらわれてくるのです。勇気も、知恵も、生きる力も、思いやりの心もわいてきます。題目を唱える人は、最も強く、最も偉大な生命を輝かせていけるのです。
